Chinese 5 Spice Pistachio Crusted Tofu

This crispy, crunchy,  protein-packed tofu is perfect for your vegan main dish, and will win over your vegan and meat-loving friends alike! Using our perfectly spiced, naturally flavoured kernels is the key to convincing even the pickiest eaters to start eating tofu!

♥ Block Extra Firm Tofu, patted dry
♥ Soya Sauce
♥ Vegan Mayonnaise
♥ Sriracha Sauce (or your favourite ginger + garlic hot sauce!)
♥ 2 bags (50g) Chinese 5 Spice Naturally Flavoured Kernels, Finely Chopped
♥ Oil for cooking


♥ Preheat the oven to 170°C

♥  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, grease with oil

♥  Cut tofu block into 8 triangles (cut horizontally down the middle, then each slab into 4 triangles). Put triangles into a shallow dish with soya sauce. Let sit and marinate for 20 minutes, flipping after 10 minutes. Pat tofu dry using a kitchen towel.

♥ In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and hot sauce, and spread a layer on the tofu. This will act as a “glue”!

♥ With the finely chopped kernels on a plate, dip the tofu (mayo side down) into the pistachios, make sure to coat the top well!

♥  Arrange tofu on tray, nut side up. Bake for 25 minutes
